The Dining Room of Hotel St. George is the largest meeting room in the Winter Garden. It is dedicated to the history of the building. The various historical roles of the building are combined in the Dining Room. The St. George building earlier housed the Finnish Literature Society and the Finnish Club. Hotel St. George wants to honour its history. The Dining Room has a collection of facsimiles of Suometar, one of the first Finnish-language newspapers, pictures and extracts from the time when Finnish journalists and the cultural and business elite met in the building. The space is excellently suited for large meetings and an impressive setting for special banquets.
The Poetry Room is an intimate space in Hotel St. George. Its speciality is a collection of poetry by poets from Finland and abroad. The Russian Anna Akhmatova and the German Rainer Maria Rilke meet Edith Södergran, the soul of Finnish poetry, and other great poets.
The ambiance of the Wine Room is reminiscent of the early 20th century Parisian salons where culture, politics and commerce met. Its elegant interior and dark, refined mood provide a setting where people can meet, build visions of the future and contemplate the multiplicity of time. Hotel St. George's Wine Room is a venue for the city's wine connoisseurs. Its carefully picked selection of wines is like a private collection but one that everyone is invited to enjoy.
St. George’s Winter Garden is in the hotel’s inner courtyard and connects the different wings of the property. The Winter Garden first seems like a classical painting that proceeds to entice you into appreciating all the subtle gestures space can offer.
