Inner Children
Studio BOM's third exhibition for St. George Bakery in autumn 2025.
Where does art begin? Maybe in the ability to hold on to one’s inner child, the freedom to play, to stay curious, and to get lost in the moment. Inner Children is an exhibition that reveals what happens when the spirit of play does not fade with age but shapes the way we look at the world.
The exhibited artworks emerge from experimentation, discovery and the pure joy of making. Craft materials, natural fibers, bronze, wood, paper, and pencils are transformed into sculptures and drawings that tell new stories while finding inspiration from the past.
Some highlights include an exchange of letters with small artworks enclosed, evoking the days when pen pals and lovers still corresponded by hand. A series of still-life drawings of two liqueur glasses and a wooden manikin examine the emotional dimensions of artistic practice. Sculptures combining modest craft materials with bronze and wood. Pencil drawings that echo imagery from the early Middle Ages. Curated by Studio BOM for St. George Bakery, Inner Children is the third exhibition in the series. Offering a multifaceted space for play, the exhibition features works by five artists: Anniina Dunder-Berg, Milja Havas, Piia Jalkanen, Charlotta Munsterhjelm ja Riikka Peltola.
