Restaurant Andrea steals the show at Flow
Every summer, thousands of people flock to Helsinki’s Flow Festival to celebrate music, art and food. This year, Restaurant Andrea will be joining the lineup of fantastic food options at the event. We talked with Andrea’s crew and asked how they built the menu and what their own favourite dishes are.

Flow attracts a diverse group of food enthusiasts, giving the chefs at Restaurant Andrea the opportunity to create new and exciting dishes.
At this year’s event, Helsinki’s newest Anatolian restaurant will be serving a hearty beef dish, fried potatoes as the Sustainable Meal, as well as food from the restaurant's usual menu.
—We designed our Flow menu based on what we ourselves would like to eat at a festival, combined with some of the dishes people should be introduced to from Andrea’s regular menu, says Head Chef Veera Valtonen.
Top food tips from Andrea’s crew
If anyone knows what’s worth a taste on Andrea’s Flow Festival menu, it’s the people behind it. Here’s what they recommend:
—Our octopus portion is already a classic and our sustainable spicy potato portion is excellent. –Filip Forsberg, Head of Food Experiences
—The octopus is the absolute must try. It’s our classic, and something you wouldn’t usually eat at a festival. Pair it with a fruity rosé or an off-dry white. –Maria Kuzina, Sommelier

—Try the beef cheek Iskender. Crispy bread, fresh homemade yogurt and spicy chickpeas with beef cheek that has been cooked very soft. It’s perfect with beer when you already have a few festival days behind you. –Veera Valtonen, Head Chef
—Everything is worth a try. The octopus is served nearly identical to the dish in our restaurant. It’s delicious. The beef cheek is a more traditional festival meal with a twist. Vegetarians will love our spicy potato dish. All of them are great. –Taneli Kesäläinen, Restaurant Manager
—I’d recommend anything at Andrea, because who doesn't like Anatolian food? If France is the home of culinary culture, then Anatolia surely is the cradle of human culture and civilization as a whole. –Lasse Auranne, Sous Chef
